Announcement  Info  :   The Port of Miami has agreed to capital improvements in the Seaboard Marine Cargo Terminal in an effort to meet their infrastructure requirements to support future growth. The scope of services consists of engineering services, which includes, design, preparation of complete construction documents, permitting of storm water collection, drainage and paving for the Seaboard Cargo Terminal, post design services and any supportive tasks ancillary to the primary scope of services. The project entails obtaining overall master storm water permits and preparing detailed design documents to include grading, paving, drainage, lighting, utilities and related work for approximately 50 acres of the cargo terminal at an anticipated construction cost of +/- eighteen million dollars ($18,000,000). The construction work is expected to be completed in four separate phases over a period of five years. Each phase will include approximately 13 acres. A comprehensive design including the storm water master plan for all four phases is to be completed for overall permitting within a schedule that supports the construction phasing. The scope includes runway rigid pavement designed to accommodate channelized multi-wheeled rubber tire gantries (RTG’s). This project is for one non-exclusive Professional Services Agreement. The term of the contract is for a five (5) year period plus a one (1) year option to extend for all professionals services requested during the initial term which equals six (6) years. The one-year option is based solely on the approval of the County Mayor or County Mayor’s designee. Maximum compensation is three million dollars ($3,000,000), plus contingency in accordance with Ordinance 00-65. No minimum amount of work or compensation will be assured to the retained consultant. The County reserves the right to re-use the work products of the retained consultant and to retain other consultants to provide the same or similar services at its sole discretion.
