UFAS BARRIER REMOVAL AT THE DEVELOPMENTS LISTED ABOVE. The Contractor must provide all required documentation to obtain all required permits to perform the job. He/she shall supply all necessary labor, tools, materials and equipment needed for the completion of the Scope of Work as specified by MDPHA Bid Documents and/or Consultant plans and specifications. All work shall be in compliance with the latest edition of the Florida Building Code, including revisions and updates, and all applicable Federal, State, local regulations and ordinances referenced there in, and any other Code having jurisdiction on the project. Project consists on providing accessibility for the physically impaired standards to the units scattered around each site. Site accessibility include revisions to parking stalls, concrete walkways and ramps connecting daily use facilities to each unit’s front and rear doors. Accessibility within the units’ interiors includes: -revisions to partitions and doorways throughout, mainly to meet wheelchair access, etc. -revisions to bathrooms requiring gutting and installation of plumbing fixtures & fittings with their accompanying grab bars. -revisions to kitchens requiring gutting and installation of cabinetwork, plumbing and appliances. ************** This is an ARRA Project- American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. ************************* 176.60 Statutory Requirement: Section 1605 of the Recovery Acts prohibits use of recovery funds for a project for the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of a public building or public work unless all of the iron, steel, and manufactured goods used in the project are produced in the United States. The law requires that this prohibition be applied in a manner consistent with U.S. obligations under international agreements SEALED BIDS for the project designated below will be received for and on behalf of Miami-Dade County, by Miami Dade Public Housing Agency at Administrative Services Division, 701 NW 1st Court, 16th Floor West Wing, Front Desk, Miami, Florida, 33136 until 10:00 AM local time, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 where they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The contractor shall provide an asbestos survey report for all units in this contract. This will be included in this contract as part of your Base Bid. There will be an allowance of $110,000.00 dollars in the event that suspect materials were found on some of the existing unit components, the contractor must remove and dispose the asbestos containing materials if they are to be disturbed by renovation activities. The removal of asbestos containing materials is required to be performed by trained/or licensed personnel in compliance with F.S. 469.001.015. (The $110,000.00 dollars allowance will not be included in your Base Bid). There will be an allowance of $50,000.00 dollars for code changes associated with the dry run/permit process. (The $50,000.00 dollars allowance will not be included in your Base Bid). Bid Guarantee: Bid Guarantee shall accompany each bid in the amount of 5% of Base Bid, in accordance with Instructions to Bidders. The bid guarantee may be a certified check, bank draft, U.S. Government Bonds at par value, or a bid bond secured by a surety company acceptable to U.S. Government and authorized to do business in the state where the work is to be performed. Performance and Payment Bond: A 100% Performance and Payment Bond is required if: the total Bid, including contingency (10% of Base Bid) and MDPHA allowances (if applicable) exceeds $100,000.00. Bid Documents: Obtain Bid Documents from MDPHA, Planning Section, 701 NW 1st Court 16th Floor Miami, Florida 33136 as of October 9, 2009 Amount: $ 80.00 (non-refundable) per Bid Document Set. Contractors to provide individual money orders or cashier’s checks per contracts. Only Money Orders or Cashier’s Checks payable to Miami Dade Public Housing Agency will be accepted to acquire bid documents. Pre-Bid Meeting: A pre-bid meeting will be held at 701 NW 1st Court 16th Floor, Conference Room “B” Miami, Florida 33136 at 10:00 AM, October 22, 2009. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in any bid, or to reject any or all bids. Bids from any person, firm, or corporation ever in default upon any agreement with the County will be rejected.
